RDC Lt.Joe Walunsimbi commissions 2 road projects in Kasese.

Yesterday, 12th June 2025, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kasese, Lt. Joe Walusimbi, commissioned two road projects that will be constructed this financial year 2024/25. The projects include the grading and widening of the Kyapa-Kitabu-Mughete Road in Kitabu Subcounty and the grading of the 5KM Kyarumba-Kitabona Road in Kyarumba Subcounty.

The Kyapa-Kitabu-Mughete Road project will cost 52 million shillings and is expected to improve the transportation network in Kitabu Subcounty. The Kyarumba-Kitabona Road project will also enhance the movement of goods and people in Kyarumba SSubcounty.

While addressing the people at the commissioning function, the RDC emphasized the government’s commitment to serving the people of Kasese. He urged the residents to effectively utilize the roads to conduct their livelihood activities, such as transporting their food to the market .

The LC IV Chairperson, Muhindi Bukombi Erifaz, also addressed the residents in Kitabu and Kyarumba. He highlighted the district leadership’s efforts to implement the National Resistance Movement (NRM) manifesto, which focuses on improving health services, education services, agriculture, and infrastructure development.

He assured the people of Kitabu that the government is working to extend safe water to their area, which will be tapped from River Dunguluha. He also addressed concerns about the seed school, stating that the government is committed to establishing a seed school in every subcounty, but the community needs to ensure that the available land has a land title. Additionally, he warned the community against political manipulation by politicians who may lie about the government’s efforts.

The commissioning function was attended by the District Engineer, technical team, political leadership, and residents. The event marked an important milestone in the district’s infrastructure development efforts.
