About Us
Established on July 1, 2008, under Section 7 (3) of the Local Governments Act CAP 243, Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town Council has grown to become a thriving urban center. With a population of 51,018 people, our town is home to a diverse community of residents and visitors.
Geography and Location
Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town Council is strategically located, approximately 61 kilometers (38 miles) south-west of Kasese, the district headquarters. The town’s coordinates are 0° 02′ 24.00″N, 29° 43′ 30.00″E (Latitude: 0.0400; Longitude: 29.7250).

Education: We have 1 government secondary school, 11 private secondary schools, 12 government primary schools, and 15 private primary schools.
Health: Our town has 1 general hospital- Bwera General Hospital and 1 health center II under PNFP.
Markets: We have 7 markets that serve as hubs for trade and commerce.
Roads: Our road network includes 3.5 km of tarmac roads and 146.5 km of murram roads.
