The Planning Department is a vital component of Kasese District Local Government, responsible for promoting sustainable socio-economic development through efficient planning and budgeting. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that development initiatives are aligned with the district’s vision and mission.
Our Team
Masereka Alex – District Planner: Oversees the planning process, ensuring that development plans are aligned with national priorities and district needs.
Singoma Joseph – Senior Planner: Provides technical guidance and support to planning staff, ensuring that plans are feasible and effective.
Muganyizi Paul – Planner: Assists in preparing and implementing development plans, monitoring progress, and identifying areas for improvement.
Biira Immaculate – Statistician: Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to inform planning decisions, producing statistical reports and appraising development projects.
Our Key roles
Developing and implementing the District Development Plan, aligned with the National Development Plan and Uganda Vision 2040
Budget Preparation and Execution: Preparing budgets that support development initiatives and ensuring effective execution of budgeted activities.
Monitoring and Evaluation : Tracking progress, identifying areas for improvement, and providing recommendations for future planning.
Investment Promotion: Promoting investment opportunities and facilitating investor engagement to boost economic growth.
Data Analysis and Research: Informing planning decisions with data analysis and research to drive evidence-based development.
Coordinating with Central Government: Ensuring alignment with national policies and guidelines through close collaboration with central government agencies.
Capacity Building: Enhancing planning and development management skills of local government staff and stakeholders.
Our Office
The Planning Department is located in the new Administration Block at the district headquarters, with staff stationed in town councils to ensure effective service delivery.
