Infrastructure

Roads:
About 97/466km of the road network is in good condition and will require routine maintenance, 138/466km requires periodic maintenance, 146/466km requires rehabilitation and 85/466km require design and reconstruction. Community access roads network, District feeder road network per Sub County and Under Ministry Of Works, Housing & Communication

Housing:
The District administration has 13 blocks used for offices at the headquarters, which need constant minor maintenance repairs. We also have 16 senior staff houses although 4 of them need major repairs. We have 23 junior staff houses in very bad conditions with 50% of them already condemned by this department as unfit for human habituation. The District also started the construction of a hotel, bar and restaurant at Bwenda in Katwe-Kabatoro town council which it has failed to complete due to financial constraints although it is 70% complete. Work has also started on the District Administration Block with the main source of funding as local revenue which we hope once completed will prove the district  with decent and sufficient office accommodation. 

Transport and Plants:
The district fleet of vehicles now number up to 15 vehicles at the district headquarters. The district road equipment has been recalled back to the district yard and are functiuonal.
