Education and Sports
There are 231 Government primary schools and 131 private primary schools.
UPE entire pupil population in government primary schools = 119,658 (males 58,470, females 68,168. Teachers in UPE schools 2,970 (males 2,128 females 842). In USE schools, the enrollment is 23,502 and teachers on payroll = 446 out of 1031 according to the Headcount Exercise on 14th April, 2011.
- While the National Teacher: Pupil ratio in primary schools in 1:49, in Kasese it is 1:54
- Nationally, the staff: house ratio in 1:1, here it is 1:22
- The Desk: Pupil; ratio is supposed to be 1:3, it is 1:8
- Toilet stance: Pupil ratio is supposed to be 1:40 and it is actually now 1:100
- Text book: Pupil ratio is expected to be 1:3, it is actually 1:8
- The entrance rate to schools is much higher than the provision of relevant facilities and materials because of programmes e.g. GBS, GEM, EFA.
- Classroom: Pupil ratio = 1:100 instead of 1:49 nationally.

Kasese district(excluding the Municipality) has 17 Government Aided Secondary Schools, 37 USE schools, including new ones like St. Kizito Kituti, Kithende College, Cardinal Nsubuga Memorial and Trinity College.
Tertiary Institutions:
- There is one school of Nursing and Mid-wifery at Kagando Hospital in Kisinga Sub cou nty, Bukonzo East Constituency, Bukonzo County .
- There is one Technical institute at Katwe-Kabatoro in Katwe-Kabatooro Town Council, Busongora South, Busongora County
- There is a Primary Teachers College at Bwera in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town council, Bukonzo West constituency, Bukonzo County.
- There is the Wild Life Institute at Katwe offering Diplomas in Wild Life Management in Katwe-Kabatooro Town Council, Busongora South, Busongora County
